New Toy...

Came home the other day and roomy had gotten us a small freezer chest. He'd complained that I over stock the freezer and that's why we have so much trouble with it. I don't agree but hey, you never know. We let it sit empty to get the temp down to where it should be. We decided to hide it in the corner of the kitchen, behind the sunroom door. The door is a french door with a panel curtain on it. So when the doors open, like it usually is, you can't see the freezer (it is a bit of an eyesore). Last night after work I went shopping and got some good meat deals of buy one get one free on chicky boobs and sirloin steaks! I also got some Cornish Game hens, fish fillets and shrimp to round it out. I put the meat in the new freezer, along with some loafs of bread he had. I'm keeping the frozen fruit and veges in the regular freezer since I use them more often. Now my freezer is not so loaded down and the air can dance around freely ;0)

I haven't seen the Robins since that one day, the Mourning Doves have stayed around though and I heard a Cardinal somewhere about when I was leaving for work. They are such agrresive eaters at the feeders. They, and the blue jays, chase all the other birds away. The jays love the roasted peanuts I put out, they take them shell and all and fly away to eat them. I love bird watching.

Tomorrow I'm going to do a little running around on my own. There's a store, Stitch N Time, in Greencastle having a grand opening event. It has fabrics etc for quilters and there's one ruler I've been trying to find that has an edge to it to hold it level against the cutting board. I haven't been able to find it around here. Besides, it gives me something to do. I hate sitting around by myself on the weekends. It's soooo lonely. Another store in town is also having a grand opening, The Fairie Godmother. I'll try to make it over there also. That should break up my day enough to keep me occupied. Roomy and I used to do things together on the weekends, now he spends all his time with his new best friend Pete. Must be a male bonding thing. I don't know, I just miss our time together.

When the snow melts I want to get out and learn the trails at Caledonia. My niece Tara said she would go with me. I would really like that. This way I can go hiking on the weekends. My hips and knees have been bothering me with the cold. Guess my arthritis is getting a bit worse. The hiking should keep me limbered up to help ease that pain. Plus I really, really need to lose weight, badly. The doctor said that walking would be good for me so that's what I'll try to do. I'd joined a hiking club but they're so advanced it will take me quite awhile to catch up to them. I think their shortest hike was like four miles and I can barely do one! Oh well.

Guess that's it for now, have a good weekend everyone....
